With more than twenty years of experience, the\u00a0CCJW\u00a0is today a benchmark for chamber music in Mexico and Latin America.\u00a0Formed in the tradition of the classical string quartet, the CCJW has builded an outstanding contemporary and avant-garde (mainly Latin American) repertoire.<\/p>

In 2000 the CCJW received the First Prize of the \u201cConcurso de M\u00fasica de C\u00e1mara\u201d of the city of Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico and since then, they have performed in the most important forums in Mexico.<\/p>

The\u00a0CCJW\u00a0repertoire\u00a0also includes works for string quartet and orchestra wich they have performed with the \u201cOrquesta Filarm\u00f3nica de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico\u201d, \u201cOrquesta Filarm\u00f3nica de Zacatecas\u201d, \u201cOrquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Aguascalientes\u201d, \u201cOrquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Miner\u00eda\u201d, and the \u201cOrquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Heredia\u201dof Costa Rica. National and international tours have allowed the CCJW to travel almost the entire territory of the Mexican Republic, the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.<\/p>

They have played with eminent musicians such as Jerry Horner and Christine Vlak (viola), Vincent Lhermet (accordion), Luis Humberto Ramos, Thomas Jones and Tara Bouman (clarinet), Roberto Lim\u00f3n and Rodrigo Neftal\u00ed (guitar), Wendy Holdaway (bassoon), Horacio Franco, Luis Julio Toro, Megan Maiorana and Alejandro Escuer (flute),<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Michiko Otaki, Marta Garc\u00eda Renart, Leonardo Gell, Ana Mar\u00eda Tradatti, May Phang and Jorge Federico Osario (piano), Jes\u00fas Castro Balbi, Bozena Slawinska, Juan Hermida, Katie Schlaikjer (cello), Eva Gruesser (viol\u00edn), \u201cCuarteto Latinoamericano\u201d and the \u201cPenderecki String Quartet\u201d.<\/p>

As inheritors of the teaching of their mentor Jerry Horner, the\u00a0CCJW\u00a0stands out for its considerable work in the pedagogical field, influencing young people and artists through their didactic concerts, conferences, composition and chamber music and workshops, as well as an annual intensive course for string quartets (\u201cCurso Intensivo para Cuartetos de Cuerda\u201d).<\/p>

Thanks to the support of the \u201cSistema de Apoyos a la Creaci\u00f3n y Proyectos Culturales de la Secretar\u00eda de Cultura de M\u00e9xico\u201d, in its program \u201cM\u00e9xico en Escena\u201d, the CCJW summons a composition contest for string quartet writing every year since 2010.\u00a0Multiple interpretations and recordings of the winning works are testimony of this contest.<\/p>
